Even though the 70-200/2,8IS Mk2 can produce images that are as sharp as the 200, somehow f:2 makes a lot of difference and allows for subject isolation and bokeh that sets it apart.
Makes me glad I got the 200/2 prior to the zoom, doubt I would have plunked down the cash if I have had the zoom.

peter,
i'm sure many can agree that we see improvement in your skill/outcome. and no doubt about it, your many hours of practice is helping. keep it up for you are an inspiration to those who lack talent.
next time i am out shooting BIF i will say to myself, "If Peter can do it so can I."

That is so true, Grant. I try to tell that very fact to everyone........the only thing I have going for me is kinda dumb arse luck which usually favours fools and drunks.

From my brief play, very well, AF worked great also, I was kind of shocked.
I used Kenko tubes, BTW...

Sugoi!
I put on a Kenko 12mm extension tube, and the lens AFs!
So I then put the full set of 3 tubes, it STILL AFs!
With the switch in the 2.5m - 5m range, I didn't measure it, but it looked about 2 FEET from the lens.
This is going to be great, no more huge crops needed.
Perhaps all/some of you already knew this.
I did not, seems I tried tubes on the 24-105L, and it didn't AF?
Perhaps I was not in the focus range?

how does the 200/1.8 work with extension tubes for macro work?
