Can someone post some pictures with 2X TC III?
I'm seriously thinking of buying one....
I know that 1.4TC does not degrade IQ much....
But, I want to get more reach time to time...
BTW, what would be the f-stop for the 1.8L with 2X TC...?
I don't have those shots handy, but I have found the quality to be noticeably worse than with my 400 DO. I tried them side by side, same subject, computer controlled focus bracketing, and the 400 DO won handily.

Thanx, Jerry........200 f/2.8 (no IS) is a lens in the 135L league.....those two lenses are made of the same cloth. In short, 200 f/2.8 is a beauty, particularly for the money.

Thanx Peter, need to research a bit more, my 85 f1.8's reach was just about right at a music recital I shot last yr; and am thinking on two options for the 6D. Upgrade to the 1.4x T/C III and use it with the 85, or get either the 135L or 200L.
The new Mark III t/c might be the better option, could be used on several lenses, and perhaps Canon will follow step and add IS to more primes like they have with the recent 24, 28 and 35mm...
I tend to use 24, 35, 100 and 200mm a lot; a lightroom search produced these results...old habits die hard, these were my most used primes back before the wheel was necessary

Jerry, if you are looking for something a bit longer than your 100L, then it would be good if it were real fast too, such as 135L. That lens deserves every ounce of praise it gets and then some.
If you need afair bit longer and still fast, then 200 f/2.8 is a fine choice, not much different from 200 f/1.8 and 200 f/2 except the nominal aperture, of course.

One thing I've found, much like when you add to much salt and can't remove it, having too much reach when you can't move back tends to make you loose the shot/composition looked for. I'll be taking the 100L and 40D to the next recital and we'll see how it fairs.
In these smaller venues I've mostly been shooting, wide to mid-tele seems best so far...perhaps the 135L and a bit of minor cropping would be the better choice for the 6D and it's insanely good high ISO.
