p.1 #1 · additional lens advise

Looking below at my current gear :
Canon 7D grip
Canon 70-200L f/2.8 USM
Canon 24-105L f/4
Canon 50mm 1.4
Tamron 17-35mm f/2.8
Canon 580EX flash

Knowing I shoot action (western horseriding ) ,portraits and a bit of landscape/architecture....taking into account I don't fancy switching lenses while shooting ,what additional quality lens would you guys advise me to add to my lens collection ?

35L, 85L, and 135L. Get the 85L f/1.2 VII for low light and portraits(the f/1.8 will focus quicker).

You might also enjoy a 1.4 Extender/Teleconverter on your 70-200.

I'd say, get a 7D to go with that grip

Considering your "I don't fancy switching lenses while shooting", I'd say the primes may not be your thing, especially since you have some of Canon's finest zooms in your setup. How often do you use the 50/1.4? I don't know much about the Tamron 17-35, but look into upgrading to one of Canon's wide-angles? The 17-40L and the 16-35L are both fine lenses.

Since you do portraits you might want to consider a 85mm to 135mm range prime lens. I like macro so I use a Canon 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro lens and it is great for portraits also. I don't like switching lens either and have a bunch of zoom lenses but sometimes you want to use a "specialist"...as I like to call the primes.

cant say there is much thats lacking in your setup if as you say you dont want to keep changing lenses.
personally i didnt get on with the 24-105 on my 7D . i found the 17-55 to be a much nicer lens. maybe its the extra pixels as it seemed pretty good on my 40D. but if you get on with it then fine its a good lens.
you could think about getting an UWA to go with the 24-105. the 17-35 you have at the moment offers you a stop better but not a huge amount of extra width (quite a bit of overlap there) . so maybe something like the 10-22 or tokina 12-24 . I have the tokina and it goes really well with the 24-105.

of course you may want to add to the long end. so a 100-400 is a great choice . but then so is the 300/4IS or the 400/5.6 (im assuming the big whites are out of budget) . maybe a little out of budget (but then I just picked one up for less than the price of a new 100-400) is the sigma 120-300 OS HSM. just got one of these and i will say im really impressed with it. I had a 100-400 before and while it was good this lens is soo much better .

I don't see anything missing from a casual photog's list for those purposes...70-200 probably gets the most use. If anything I would get a longer lens for sports.

The biggest and best "lens advice" I can give is to buy a full frame body. You have a great set of lenses there, perfectly suited to the larger sensor. This will skew all your images toward wider angle, benefiting everything but sports and action.

If you want to upgrade a lens, I agree with umihoshijima, the 17-35 is the obvious one to change from.
