I know the anti twist is nice but for an extra $100? I am thinking I can live without it, your thoughts?

Thank ya

I would not. Do they still make tripods without anti-twist legs?

Is this a second tripod to go with your sirui? I would not mind a second (lightweight / spare) tripod w/o anti-twist but for a main tripod I find them faster to use...

Sold it to a friend don't care much for the traveler type how it folds up but all in all it's a great tripod

No! I did when I bought a feisol recently and am constantly fighting with it.

This sounds like Feisol who have rotating & anti leg rotating versions of some models. ALR is a feature that has made tripod setup and breakdown quicker and much more usable. Given the longevity of tripods vs camera bodies, you will almost certainly regret not getting ALR and if you try to sell the tripod down the road you may have some difficulty.

One nice thing about the Manfrotto is that its legs will open at 45 degrees whereas most others will not. I find that nice and stable as a platform (i.e. less likely to fall over, quite aside from any leg vibration) without spreading too wide.
