p.1 #1 · Frozen Memories

I was out for a walk in the park with my girlfriend in this cold snap we're having and happened to pass the local war memorial in my area. I just had an overwhelming feeling of the people that had been lost and the families who had to enter the new year without these men and women.

I was hoping for a moody shot with this and I hope that the post processing has set this off correctly.

Please leave any comments and criticisms for how I may improve this.

EXIF:

10 Sec.
f/22
ISO 100
28mm focal length on a 28-105mm Nikkor

Post processing included knocking down the saturation, bumping the clarity and adjusting the levels.

Daniel:
I rather like the first one here. The bright colors seem to change the mood altogether while the desat sets it rather well.

Wow. Gorgeous compo. Very moving.

I agree with douter: l really like #1. The bright red in #2 suggests celebration and vibrancy. The muted palette in #1 conveys a somber and more thoughtful mood.

Thanks for sharing.

Many thanks for the comments guys.

I did think that the de-saturated version really set the tone off. I just felt moreso that the image as a whole told a bit more of a story.

Thanks again.

Daniel.

I like the first one also - maybe crop out the footprints. Thanks for sharing.
