two cracking views Al,
but both seem to have opposite problems.
#1 the sky is a tad blown, but has foreground detail, #2 has a gr8 non blown sky but deeeper shadows. A good grad would of helped, or a tweak i the pp stages.
#1 may be saved by a simple red channel luminosity mask selection and the brightness dialed back or duplicated to another layer and the blend mode change to darken, and adjust to taste.
the shadows in #2 a little more akward as raising the levels may show additonal noise. however worth a try by selecting the lower area with the lasso tool, refine the edges with a blur, copy to a new layer but choose the screen mode and adjust to taste.
