The images are very nice and I really like the falloff.
Now, I find this...
...I didn't find any real exposure difference in the 'zone' of light on the court. I guess I was expecting that...
...very interesting as I experienced the same with a different piece of equipment.
I bought one of the Harbor Digital Design Flash Extender's (HDD FE) and tried it this week at a swim meet. The FE is an alternative to the Better Beamer - a fresnel lens - although, IMHO, built a little better.
With the FE mounted on an SB-800 and bounced, the additional light was minimal notwithstanding that the HDD website claims +2 stops of light at 100 ft. I don't know what's going on. Maybe the additional stops claimed by HDD and the LTs is only for direct light. Maybe bouncing off a ceiling spreads it out enough that you lose what you and I thought we might gain.
I dunno; this is one for the "light engineers."
Regardless, thanks for sharing your experience with the LTs. I've been considering buying one and even if I don't get the additional light, I DO like the falloff.
