Hey Andy meant to comment in your basketball pictures. I like the wider angle in some if your pictures! I use D3s with 70-200 vr2, these were 1/500-1/600 SS at F2.8 using Auto ISO which varied from ISO 2500-3200. I used K for white balance a d made slight adjustment from there.
Maybe we can meet up sometime. I am from the area and my grandparent live in Lampasas and we lived in copperas cove before I joined the Air Force.
I try to set on the 3 point line or outside seems to make for a little bit better angles and not as much ref interference. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment was beginning to think something was wrong with them. :-)

Thx. I am going to try that spot when I shoot my next game. I'm thinking my 70-200 will get tighter shots than the 24-70 from there so that will change as well. And yes, Lampasas is in the neighborhood.
I'm not familiar with Nikons but they do a good job of dealing with noise. I don't think that was always the case but I could be wrong.

The D3S was the low light king and is still probably at the top of the list with the exception of the 1Dx and canon 1D mark IV and the Nikon d4. I pretty much use the 70-200 90% of the time and will throw on the 300mm for a few shots. I wished I had a second body that is as good as the d3s and a wider angle for close up crowd and player shots.

First of all thank you for the comments..I guess we all like to hear we are doing good or we need to work on this or that..I am always trying to get better and this fourm has really helped me!! I remember some of the first post and pictures I put up and how frustrated I was but if it wasn't for these comments I wouldn't be able to take these photos.
Kevin...I was actually almost on the out of bounds line but it seems to give some of the best angles and I can shoot the opposite baseline although I do lose the ablity to shoot the corner right in front of me but I do rotate corners. If I had a wider angle I would shoot some more under the basket but the 70-200 just seems almost to long for those shots and the DOF at 2.8 is just to shallow.
Again thanks for taking the time to post...kinda of a battery charge to keep shooting...
Hoping to try to get on with US PRESSWIRE next...currently shooting for ZUMA..taking it step by step...

sharp set and well presented. Many great thoughts above and I agree with the colors and feel are great. I agree there is something special about the D3s! You have a good grip on it for sure.
