Hi everyone,
This is my second photo submission. This is the underpass on Park Avenue and 110th Street (I believe its 110th) I was hired by a Miami based restaurant to take photos of the area as it was the theme of the Latin restaurant. This area is also called El Barrio. I travelled here often with my mother during her trips to the fabric store on 116th Street. When I went back to shoot the area. I was blown away at how small the area felt. As a young boy this area seemed to stretch for blocks and blocks. What depressed me a little was the lack of "ethnicity" I felt. It seemed washed down.
I knew I wanted to shoot this underpass and as soon as I drove up to it, I could hear the Spanish music, smell the spanish food, see all the clothing lines of drying on the fire escapes.
