dsjtecserv Offline • • • Upload & Sell: Off p.1 #1 · Table Rock (West Virginia) I've been having trouble keeping up with processing photos from last fall, and with this forum, but I finally completed a set from Table Rock, an out-of-the way ledge in the heart of West Virginia's Allegheny mountains. We weather was drizzly and uniformly overcast, so the sky sucked; I did my best to minimize it. On the other handle, the soft lighting was conducive to bringing out the color of the wet leaves. Funny you should mention the snow -- in #3 you can see the first wave of snow coming over the ridge in the distance. About 10 minutes later it was snowing at that location, and snowed off and on at that elevation for the rest of the day. I wish I had gone to Bear Rocks; I saw Joe Rossbach later and he said it was great. Instead I stayed on Canaan Mountain and looked for good snow scenes, but didn't really find much. Later I went to Shays Run and Lindy Point, but the snow hadn't stuck at those lower elevations. So no, I didn't put the early snow to good use that time. Oh well. Dave Jan 17, 2013 at 02:19 PM

I was set up at Bear Rocks waiting for the snow to break when Joe and a couple of his students drove up. Mostly grey skies as well but did get a very brief period of sun peeping through. I had that same slight skimming light on the clouds at sunset at Lindy Point, but spent too much time at Shays Run and got to Lindy too late for the best of it.
