The 'sparkles and dots' don't bother me at all; they're what the shot is all about IMO; it's the still water at the bottom that is...je ne sais quoi. That make any sense? I like your shot, Charlie.

Charlie, I like all the sparklies and highlights here and would also consider cropping the still water from the bottom. Looks almost like ice breakup on a river with a lot of decayingvegetation on bottom causing the bubbles/er sparklies.

Cropping out the lower water creates a better balance of the horizontal lines in the image, and gives a clearer sense of what the image is about. My only other observation is feel there is something needed to balance left and right, I keep wanting to see something else on the right. Of course there may have been nothing in the scene.
