Error 99 message and don't think Canon authorized service will be cost effective. Can anyone here recommend a service center locally in the Detroit area?

A camera repair shop in Central Michigan has had a booth in central Ohio for a local camera store's exhibit a couple of times and had a good response.

They're in Wyandotte, MI

They checked my camera and cloeaned the sensor and did a good job. The local shop in Columbus would not invite them back if they had any negative feedback.

Midwest got bad reviews locally, which is why I was looking for some personal recomendations

I'm not in your area, but often use a repair shop out here in the west, the link is below. Send them an email or call, ask for Steve. He's a former Canon tech and fixes both older and newer bodies, lenses, etc...Canon, Nikon, and others...Steve has fixed several of my older bodies, does excellent work.
