p.1 #1 · Epson V600 scanner

I have just brought this scanner and I need some advise and tips from people who have this scanner as to what options to use. I am going to scan slides of family, vacations etc so that we can look at on the television etc.
I need to know what resolution to scan them at e.g. 72dpi or the highest setting 6400, should I scan as jpeg or Tiff? There are numerous other options available so if someone can tell me which to use and not use it will save me a lot of trial and error.
Regards

Start at 2400 DPI. On my v700, there is no meaningfull difference in quality between 2400 and 3200. Then try stepping down to the next lower and see if there is a difference. Tiff vs JPEG depends on how much processing they need. One option is a hybrid. Scan to TIFF, process the images, save the final to JPEG and discard the TIFF. If they are family pics, etc, you will probably not be going back later to reprocess.
