p.1 #1 · FIXED: Need HTML5 code help

Really simple for the right person. I'm using a WordPress theme. The homepage gallery option I chose in the theme has a great slideshow feature, but the site menu is coded to appear as a rollover when the mouse is anywhere on the browser.

This is a major problem for iPhone and iPad viewers as the menu never loads (obviously), and they can't enter the actual site, but only view the slideshow.

I think I've found the strand of code using Firebug (for CSS), but I don't know what to change it to. Also, I can edit values and code, etc. but I don't know of a way to save my changes, and the code keeps reverting back to the default settings from the developer.

I've reached out to the developer, but like many of them on ThemeForest, although he boasts how the CSS is modifiable, won't tell me how to change it to my liking. I'm not a coder, and this is just one minor tweak I need to make to make the site work across all platforms.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!
John

Firebug changes will only affect the current browser session, but they aren't saved to the source file(s). When you refresh the page, the source files from the server are redisplayed.

You will need to get into the .css file from the WP Admin (or via FTP) then plug in the changes you figured out using firebug, then save the .css file (see below)

The FIRST thing to do is to save the current .css file (or make sure you have the original source theme template if you haven't made changes). If your edits go sideways you need to have a quick restore plan.

Tough for me to check cause I'm on my iPad right now.

If you get stuck, send me a PM and I'd be happy to take a look at it for you.

wordpress is a pretty good tool for creating your own blog. I used wordpress too, and then I built my own website using php. The thing about wordpress is that it is limited to having 1 blog. You can add photo gallery plug-ins too but some of those are not great or is buggy. But you could build your own using php and jquery too.

And to change your themes, you could use <a href="www.colornfo.com">Colornfo</a> to help you choose your colors. If you're good with wordpress, you can make your own themes and plug-ins too.
