UK prices are currently the best or as close as makes no difference. You’re not going to get a new EU-stock 5D Mark III for a penny less than £2200.
Try the various Amazons if you want (.fr, .de, .es, etc.), and follow up with Google Shopping in the most promising country from your Amazon searches, but you’re not going to beat £2200 at the moment.
You have sellers for 2550 euro at Amazon.de. Pay with 1 click and you will get the Amazon.de A-to-Z Guarantee. It's about 2070 GBP

One seller, singular, and brand new with no reviews. Selling exactly one item (the 5D Mark III) in the shop. With every other seller above 2800 euros. Besides, after a realistic exchange rate, currency conversion fee, and international shipping, it works out a good bit more than £2070.
HDEW Cameras is a well-known importer. Do not be misled into thinking Canon UK will repair anything they sell. Check their website and their employee’s many, many posts all over UK web forums. They’re full of weasel words for a reason.
Not that there’s necessarily anything wrong with buying cameras imported from China. I did that with an 80-200 mm f/2.8 from DigitalRev. But know what you’re buying. And if you’re the type who sells six months later, keep in mind that some buyers won’t like grey-market cameras.
Canon UK requires a proof of purchase - VAT receipt - within date in order to accept an item for repair under warranty. Since the UK is within Europe a European sourced model, with suitable paperwork, should have warranty honoured by Canon UK. Heck, they even honour warranty for cameras sourced from the USA so long as a UK VAT receipt can be provided as evidence of purchase. This is the case with products bought from well known and highly respected internet trader Ian Kerr, also known as Kerso and supplying US sourced products via Scotland with VAT documentation to afford full Canon UK warranty cover. This is Ian's website FAQ page....
I would agree that for sources outside the UK and without necessary documentation the warranty support might be very much less likely, on bodies at least.

Got any links for that? Or anything to show that they are lying?

It was you who wrote that Amazon and the others couldn't beat 2200. Which it could. So why complain then? I would not buy any camera from this seller at amazon (even if it's good with amazons protection) But I would not buy anything HDEW cameras either. And where did you get the China thing from........

Maybe that’s why he charges over 200 quid more than HDEW.

The beauty of weasel words is that they’re not technically lies. But in HDEW’s own FAQ I spot this:
"Are all products guaranteed for UK repair"
Yes! Any issues, we will resolve them for you when it comes to any technical problems.
Ask yourself why they don’t just let Canon UK take care it.
Let us know what they say. And if you don’t like the answer, call back and talk to someone else. In my experience you can get almost any answer out of customer service if you keep asking!
It lists shops from Germany, Austria, UK and Poland. The third column reports in many shops (mostly from Germany) the amount of valuations from shoppers. If there are a lot of valuations, and the rate is high (close to 1) I wouldn't hesitate buying from them. The valuations can be readed by clicking on the counter (but are in german) and are useful to confirm how polite is the shop about returns and any other question.
Despite living in Spain, I have bought nearly 100% of my equipment from Germany and France shops. Most Spanish shops are not so cheap, and splicitly state in their web that they doesn't accept returns (despite that being illegal) thus I only buy filters and bags in my country. Another advantage is that (due to German laws) they pay for the shipping back costs in case of return. I have returned lenses without problems. And one HP monitor I bought was serviced in Spain with no problems (HP also has a european warranty policy).
