How does this lens do while focusing at different distances? I had three Sigmas (30 1.4, 50 1.4, 85 1.4). All were really good, but got inconsistent when it came to focusing at different distances to the subject. I have the 35L now and its pretty darn good...but if I can save a few bucks and get the Sigma..... The key would be 100% consistency on the part of the Sigma.

Any experiences?
With +10 on my 5DM3 the Sigma focuses accurately and consistently at MFD and infinity and all points in-between.

there's another thread going right now, but the short version for me is that a +7 MA did the trick all around

It's one of the differences between UK English and US English. As it happens, my English teacher was from UK so I'm used to this accent and spelling.
Your English spelling and grammar are absolutely perfect as far as I can tell.
Wow. You're not kidding. When my 30 shit the bed, futureshop wanted to replace it with the 60D (extended 4 year warranty). I told them no way I wanted a camera with an articulating screen, slower FPS (compared to the 50D) and a body made of plastic. I had no idea about the MA. I wonder what they have planned for the next XXD...
Needless to say, I spent extra and went for the 7D. So glad I did.
I have a 7D now, but in many ways I preferred the 60D. If they dropped in the 7d AF and MA, it would be great. (Of course, at this point, any new camera should also have an improved sensor, but Canon likely will insist on milking its aging 18mp crop sensor for another generation...)
