I just picked this up locally off an FM'r. I got hooked on 35mm with the F2, and was a little concerned the Sigma's size would make the camera less convenient. I'm glad I thought wrong, because this lens absolutely is going to be glued to my D600. All the accolades it gets are well deserved.

I'm on the fence here. I usually shoot with a 24mm and 85mm combo on my DF. Almost all for family pictures. My 24mm 1.4 is incredible, but it's sometimes a bit wide and I'm thinking that I'd be better served with a 35mm sigma instead of the Nikon 24mm.

Thoughts?

It's my favorite lens....sharper than any other. Prior to its purchase, my "favorite" was the 24/1.4, which I sold a few months later. My favorite combo is now the Siggies 35/1.4 and 85/1.4, soon to be joined by the "new" S 50/1.4 (assuming it is as good as rumored).

You need to try Sigma 150mm f/2.8 macro. It's my fav portrait lens, travelling telephoto and, of course, macro lens. I have the non stabilized version.

Hmmmm, 35mm, 150mm. I'm spotting an obvious flaw in your suggestion.....

Last summer I went in a two weeks trip with D600 + D5200 and this Sigma trio:

35/1.4
150/2.8
8mm f/3.5 circular fisheye (spectacular also)

I was very happy, mixing the 35/150 between the FX and DX senzor. Only in a few situations I wished a wider lens. Next time I will replace the circular fisheye with my 16/2.8 Nikkor diagonal fisheye and I will be served.

Honestly if Sigma will rework its 20mm f/1.8 lens I think I can use exclusively Sigma glass on my Nikon bodies. I dream to find funds for Sigma 120-300/2.8 Sport... then I can stop looking for anything else

Ah, uh... I forgot to say that in a local photo competition I won a Sigma DP2 Merill which is the sharpest photo device I ever used in my life. It is really spectacular, with lot of shortcomings, but the IQ is unique.

Sigma definitely is a game changer and in the coming years will lead the innovation. Hopefully keeping an affordable cost.

I had it, liked it, and sold it as I wasn't using it very much. Nonetheless, I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in that FL. It also works quite well with the Siggy1.4 TC.

Since I bought mine it has been snow and cold. More snow and even colder with even more snow. I am considering sending it to somebody stationed in Antarctica so the cold will go there. I was considering the north pole, but that is just too close to home. Last night was MINUS 17 F here.

Tom Skilling of WGN tv says it will warm up next week and even get up to average! Maybe I will get some pix outside instead of harassing the cat.

Lovely shot, great colors. Shame about that fence in the background. Your others in the D800E thread are beautiful as well. You really make that Sigma 35 sing.
