If you have, you have experienced the intense shock waves generated by a Nitro-Methane inhaling monster producing 10,000 HP and is capable of accelerating from 0-320+ mp/h (0- 480+ km/h), in under 4 seconds…. I see photographers lined up along the wall…some on ladders…lots of expensive equipment… How does your gear stand up to the “Extremely High Amplitude Pulses” these creations produce? … Each of those cylinders generates a pressure wave that goes right through you…and your equipment… How’s that IS working for you? Shoot at NHRA event in Denver back in 1996, My EOS 1N with a 600 F/4L came apart as I tripped running away from flying debris coming off a funny car that crashed into a concrete barrier below me traveling at well over 200 MPH. Will never forget that. The sound, feel, smells, and visual is something I had never experienced before, and have not to this day. Perhaps standing next to an F-14 taking off from a carrier might come close. Used to stand 5' away from the track when I went. Best advice is to wear old clothes. long sleeves. Make sure your lens has a filter. Wrap it in a bag or something as the rubber will coat it and you cannot wipe that crap off. Jan 08, 2013 at 04:43 AM

Here in the USA we can still get gasoline for about $.87/liter (of course sold by the US gallon), and people complain, yet continue to buy 2 1/2 ton SUVs with 5 liter engines. But top fuel dragsters...I don't need that much craziness. If I could just get a street legal electric car capable of 0-200 kph in 3 seconds, I think that would be enough!
