Pretty pumped about this. I think this is finally something that would work better for me than the aged S90. I wish they ruggedized it though, or at least gave it some weatherproofing.
Won't buy it new or near launch, but I could see winding up with one.
I think it looks nice, I am a fan of retro styling when it comes to cameras though.
Seems that Ricoh has had no input in this model which I would have though considering it has been a year and a half since they took over. Pentax were supposed to exit the compact camera market and focus on the dSLR market weren't they? If so, this might be the last hurrah from them in that market.
It appears to be the same lens as in the Olympus XZ1/2. As an owner of the XZ1, I'm not impressed by the lens, which is quite soft towards the edges at the wider end. It gets better stopped down, but the nature of these cameras, when in auto mode, is to keep ISO low and shoot at or near wide open as much as possible.
Still waiting for Ricoh to either upsize the GRD's sensor or update the GXR...
