I would like to share a new action, one that I created, its (FREE) as a Happy New Year gift from me to you
Action name:
Chads Hot Cool action
What does it do?:
In Photoshop its impossible to click a button to show blown highlights and shadows in Blue/Red I created an action to quickly build a layer that allows these areas to show, not only does it show them, it shows Red/Blue areas live while you are making adjustments to your work.
How to use the action:
Simply double click the downloaded action, this will load the action into PS (version 3 and up)
Once loaded you will need to show the "action" window in PS, you will see a new action loaded named: Chads Hot Cool action, toggle that open you will see the action (Blown highlight_Shadow Layer). Open an image run this action on your image by clicking the play icon on the bottom of the action palette. Once action is ran you will see a new layer named: "Keep as TOP Layer REMOVE THIS LAYER BEFORE FLATTENING" you must keep this layer on the top of all your layers, like the layer name states, you need to remove/delete this layer before flattening final image.
Why not use camera RAW histogram?:
Simple, lots of adjustments are made in PS, these adjustments affect deeps and highlights. Its best to see this when your image is in final form.
Why not use Image/Adjustments/Threshold?
Not live, does not show both nor in Red/Blue
Please Leave a comment saying if you would like the action link for download.

I'd like to get any 'action' I can from you Chaddy😉
First, will this work on a Mac computer?
By the way, I still love the 'Chad Action' for sharpening and sizing for web👍
Your fav Sis......Karla😎
Oh, your highlights are blown in this image a bit
Tested on Mac and Windows 7
Only the second image, the first is perfect, check it with the new action Sis.
BTW thanks for the kudos and referrals for the "Chad Action" I just about cleared a cool Million with the proceeds from that one, thats why this one is free
Hey Chad the action works great with my set-up ,Thank you. I really like the live aspect because every little change can push the highlights. Here is an example.
