I like the composition of the tree in #2, but #1 has that extra ethereal look to it. It's hard to choose. I'd suggest cloning out the bare tree branches in #2 to make the comp cleaner.

Couldn't have said it better. Same here. While I like the tree, like you do, I find it distracting unfortunately.

I like No. 2. The tree branches are a little distracting, but I like the way it leads me into the frame.
