After the latest firmware update on Dec. 19, PocketWizard claims "compatibility with 600EX-RT" among other things. Am I to believe that the MiniTT1 will now trigger the 600EX directly? (i.e. without the use of some other radio receiver attached to it). What exactly does "compatibility with 600EX-RT" mean? My email and phone call to PW have yielded no results (yet).
Try as I might, I can't get it to work in my scenario (with a 5DIII) and I cannot find any indication that anyone else in the world has either.
I e-mailed the same question to PW and received a reply within an hour or two. Very responsive. In short, the answer was that a TT5 is still required on the 600EX. It will trigger the flash with ETTL functionality, but it does not use the same radio frequency as the 600EX.
