Made a trip to Big Bend over the holiday weekend, and while I was mostly skunked on night skies because of thick cloud cover, I was able to get a few shots from early on before the clouds got socked in.
Yeah, I was a bit nervous taking these shots, since this is right on the US/Mexico border, and I was sitting there with over 20k of gear with me. I was packing, but even then... feeling outnumbered, even though I never saw a soul other than a few coyotes. But, once your mind starts to roam, it's hard to get it back into the corral.
I am already planning to revisit this spot with a new moon and hopefully clear skies.
