We usually choose this because we do not have the opportunity to select "new" because technically anything we sell here is "used" according to Nikon Corporation. However, I can also state with some authority that if you choose to buy this item, Nikon will honor any warranty with a copy of a sales slip if it has not been previously registered in their database under someone else's name.
