Because you won't read it in the press, and the guys involved won't ever say much about it, I'll put it up here. Two of my friends (much demonized 1 per centers) are spending today and tonight, and about 15 grand of their own $$$, flying a mid 20's Staff Sargent who recently lost both legs at his hips in Afghanistan, across the country to San Diego.
This is not a rare occurrence for either of them, it's just one of dozens of such missions that they fly during the year. Each mission is flown by, and 100% funded by the pilots involved. It doesn't surprise me at all. Many successful people have this attitude, it's just not politically advantageous for the current agenda to tell everyone.
Plus in reality only the 1% have the ability to do something like this. Also 100% of the money and effort goes to the recipient as apposed to the, bureaucracy, and total ineptness of a government run operation.
