I'm looking for some software for the phone that will help with sunrises/sunsets/moon, etc in remote locations, and in the future, so I can plan shoots.
I have used TPE on my PC and I really like it. It is (was?) free for the PC version so you could try it out. Never heard of the other... But that doesn't mean good or bad...
I have both TPE and Sun Surveyor (had sun surveyor on my droid) I find Sun Surveyor to be the better app... I watched patiently when I switched from a Droid to an iPhone for the Sun Surveyor app and jumped on it as soon as it came out...

I have been using TPE for some time now and consider it essential in planning landscape shoots. I have use it to time and accurately (within 100 ft placement and within the minute) predict the alignment of shots such as this lunar eclipse. http://www.fototime.com/103E9AF2FEED381/standard.jpg
However there is one major limitation to this app: you need a phone signal to download google maps. In the outback, many locations are quite remote, without a cell phone tower within several mountain ranges. This encourages careful planning locations and timings before setting out. I wish TPE could be updated with tide tables and weather links!
