Hell all.

I'm having a series of Fine Art Canvas prints done by WHCC. I want to center my wall around a 20" x 60" crop of one of these skylines but cannot decide which one. It will be flanked by four 20"x30" floating canvas wraps.

I'm leaning towards the second one but I want one of the corner ones to be this one: so it's a little redundant!

Any advice would be fantastic!

I like the second one best. The important details (buildings, etc) are larger in the image which leads to a little more detail.

What if I were to crop the 1st one? I feel like it's more New York-ish: especially since I live in Chicago now.

I think you are on to the solution here. I like the first image better but IN MY OPINION it might be improved a bit. I would come in 1/4 of the way from the left and crop, then I would crop from the right to just right of the tall building. Then vertically I would crop out a lot of that sky, and some of the water. I find myself being distracted by the sky and my eyes trying to find a "face" in the clouds.

I think you can crop #1 according to the rule of thirds to achieve the building detail you seek. Nice shots by the way!

Here's where I'm at. Removed the cancerous cloud and enhanced the color. Yes, I like the blue.

I like your final crop the best. Remove the birds? bottom right in the water.

Canvas? Really?? NO!!!!
Print this on Metallic Paper!!! A shot like this with reflections and all the light will be magical on Metallic.

I agree. This type of image is not suited for canvas. You'll lose the fine details as well as the glow to the image. Metallic would be awesome.

I'm limited in size to 20x40 with Metallic Paper unless I have it framed elsewhere - which I think will be more than WHCC. I have heard of ColorPlak and cannot get an idea of their pricing.

In that cropped image, the blue is overly saturated.

Look at the white lights, they are blue-ish.

2nd one is the best, the first one looks kinda boring. The second photo has more 'life' to it.

Almost there. Crop 10 percent more off each side, which will require you to remove about 1/3 of the sky to keep the same aspect ratio. And yes, cut back a bit on the blue. Then you'll have it!

Here is the final:

Broke it into three 20" squares to mount above my TV with about an inch between each one. Each has a focal point of some sort. It's on metallic paper with a 3/4" black standout.
