Twas the night before Christmas
And all through the place
I prepared very carefully
To catch Santa's face.
I set up my tripods for off-camera flash
Turned on AF and set the speed of the shutter
When I heard in the chimney
A loud cough and a curious splutter.
I flipped up the flash and turned on the slaves
I charged up every synchronizable gun
Prepared and poised perfectly
For the best candid ever done.
With a soot cloud of blackness
Down Santa came
I rapid fired my micro-four-thirds camera
But all was in vein.
The Zeiss lens I discovered,
As I glimpsed Santa's foot,
Had poor optical properties
It was now covered in soot.
So without a clear photo
I bare the only message I might.
A merry Christmas to all
And to all a good night.
