I use the quickmask feature often in Photoshop. I use it to select certain areas and then apply an effect to that area, typically in an adjustment layer. After creating the mask with the appropriate tools, and then clicking again on Quickmask to make it a selection, the selection is now the opposite of what was masked. To apply the effect on the area that I had brushed in I need to select inverse first. How do I paint the mask to become the selection I want without having to invert? To clarify, I want to paint in the selection itself, not what is to be masked from the effect.
