Finally broke down and upgraded 5DII to 5DIII. I was holding out because of the non-interchangable screens on the 5DIII and my use of manual focus through the viewfinder for the Zeiss 100 MP and canon lenses in situations when it was too dark to AF. Evaluating my use through the last 6 months, it appears I have over-estimated the times I am doing this and missing the 5DIII features more and more. Sold my 5DII with less than 10k clicks and the EG-S and the Zeikos grip for $1350 and picked up a 5DIII locally for $3k.
Besides the manual, where can I get good information about which AF modes to use etc? Are people working with groups or single point seletions etc? I usually use one shot mode, but I want to learn tracking too. I mainly shoot documentary style for street, comedy, bands, portrature and travel. I usually like David Busch's books, but not sure how much he goes into the AF or if his book is out yet (looking into that). Are there online resources that I can look at? Other books? Helpful FMers ?
Thanks from a former "center point only focus re-composer"
