I know its been done many times before, but I thought this image from way back in May 2009 worked well in black and white. Its nice to go back through the archives from our USA trips knowing there are many images still waiting to be discovered. We are on a quest to visit the 58 USA National Parks - so far 47! Of our 11 trips to the USA in the last 5 years I have literally thousands of images to work through...at this rate as long as I live til I'm about 135 I should manage to get to them all!

As I'm sure you know, Bruce Barnbaum was kind of a pioneer in popularizing these canyons for photographers. His photographs were b&w but color photographers soon followed and today we tend to see mostly color photographs of the canyons. While many of the color ones are outstanding, I've always preferred b&w for the canyons and this is one of the best.
