I don't know if you did it intentionally to avoid licensing issues with your design business, but Jeter spells his name "Derek".

Ummm... Let me think... Heck ya I like it. This works well for baseball and this particular shot but there is small real estate for football. Basketball is a vertical game so the other layout is best for basketball.

Not sure on that top right corner. I will let those that are the experts chime in on that.

But I like it.

i would shrink the logo in the bottom left to make it fit inside the shape. for the top right i would do something like "Oceanside QB No. 4" in some variation where they are all horizontal

How about blue text in the upper right corner that is the same blue as the lower left corner. Might stand out well against the grey.

The grey is optional. The teams colors are blue and white, so I just picked it for the third color. If this was the New York Mets for example, one triangle would be orange and the other blue.
