p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Is Quicktime Dead?

Recently was told that Apple no longer supports Quicktime...and I have been having color issues with it (on PC).

I make panos from time to time and have generally made them in Quicktime because that's what I started with some years ago. Should I go to Flash? Why, as in what will it do for me?

Quicktime is moribund if not dead. So is Flash.

Your best option for displaying panoramas is a player that will detect Flash if someone is on a web browser, but also serve an HTML5 version to those viewing on an iPhone or iPad. I really like Pano2VR - it's easy to do the basics, and the online video tutorials are excellent. You might also check out krpano.

Here's a recent 360 panorama that includes an HTML5 version with iPhone/iPad gyroscope control: http://bit.ly/V83Xiu

Could you elaborate? They seem perfect for showing panos on a screen....

I use Pano2vr as well.....

If Apple is no longer supporting Quicktime then why did it just update itself on my PC's?
