I have a 50D that has a sticking shutter button, which seems that it will need to have the shutter button replaced. My dilemma leads that I want to get a new camera to replace it and keep it as a back up.

Anyone ever had a shutter button replaced by Canon CPS and how much does it cost estimated? I am leaning to new camera because it seems like it'd be more to replace than its worth.

Any help would be appreciated!

It works.

Sending it in will cost a fair bit. Someone on here has detailed a tear down of a canon dslr to get to a shutter button and its almost a complete dismantle

glad I found this, my 50D started locking up today and I think this might be what is going on, click the button and nothing happens.

You can also buy a new shutter button for around $15. Takes about 30 minutes to solder it in.
