Finally a chance to have my first real play with the 6D. I wandered around during twilight yesterday shooting 800ISO handhelds with the 70-200. I think I am really going to love this camera.....

had some time before it had to go back in the box until the 25th. everything using defaults right out of the box (jpeg in camera), in shutter priority mode, Auto-ISO, 85mm f/1.8 USM

OK! Everything got delivered today! I didn't have too much time to dig into all the new features, but I did want to at least get it set up similar to my 5D and give it a quick test.
With a nice big light, and cheesy processing that I did you're not going to get much out of this...similar results could be had with a 10D...BUT...you know what's nice? The speed. Everything just feels snappier, quicker, and easier now. The USB 3.0 card reader helps in that regard too.
I did try out one thing: wifi to smartphone remote app. I tried to pose myself, but the ambient was too dark especially since I had the settings set for the light. If someone hits the AF, the LV will open everything up to try to find something, and I was able to at least position myself a little bit. The biggest thing that came out of this little experiment was that the flash would not fire via the remote app, even though the shutter did. I'm sure there's a LV setting somewhere that I missed...but I found it odd.
Anyway, that's my super quick and non-technical first impression for you!

Shot a friend's indoor casual wedding the other night using his 24-105 and no flash. I an amazed by this camera's files at high iso's.
These are straight out of camera.
