thanks for looking, Douglas.
I am unsure of the specific area you mention. and what is 'squirmy'?? new tech term.
much of the surface is very dirty; the image was taken in very dark circumstances with a camera that did not like 1,000 ISO.

Tom: Sorry about the technical jargon. I;m speaking of the bottom of the doorway that looks kind of like an egg crate and the area above that just below and to the right of the window.
Douglas
Douglas - I a guess that that is sections of the orange colored plastic matting used around constructions sites. the section on the floor seems to be shadows of the upright section.
I think!

Chris - I am not sure I will get use to the grainy look. the image was taken with my Nikon D80, not one Nikon's best products. my D700, a marvelous camera, would never produce grain like this. I have to contend only with some old images shot years ago.

Tom- what a strange and "other-worldly" look to the door frames in the middle of the picture.
This whole process is so odd to me that I'm amused by the discussion you and Chris had about grain. How the heck can you even TELL when something else isn't right? .
Charlie
Dang-nab it- I like the image . (And you know how hard it is for me to say that .)
Charlie - always glad to hear your comments, evaluation.
these type of images are a joy for me to create, if only because they are soooooo different.
