We had a very brief stop at Mendenhall Glacier so didn't get a chance to hike around as much as we would have liked but thoroughly enjoyed the views.

Nice work Scott. I would look at how cropping the foreground flora from this might improve it.

Hey Scott,

I like this as it is. It's really different and kind of cool how the water that is visible in the lower right balances with the glacier that is in more of the upper part.

Nicely done, Scott.
And good to see that the glacier seems to still be down to lake level.
If you were standing on the old church lawn for this shot, then I was standing within a few feet of the same spot.
About 20 years ago . And your trees and bushes are taller than they were for me .

Well, that explains the "Charlie wuz here" etched into the big boulder

Thanks Jim; just wish I had packed my 20 foot ladder to get a better angle for more mountain/glacier reflection...dangit!

Great Scott! That's a Great Shot! The ring of trees, and lovely little lake really make this for me. Very nicely done, Scott.

Cheers,
Ed

A neat image. I don't think cropping out the foreground would improve it, but it does seem a bit "brighter" and so is a competing for my eye with the rest of the image. If it were me, I think I might vignette/burn the bottom and lower corners just a bit to match.

I like this composition. Most glacier shots I see are just the ice and mountain. This perspective is very nice.

Thanks Ed and Gordon for the comments.

Darren, vignette/burn may be just what is needed for the bottom...as soon as I get PS loaded on my new Macbook I'll give it a try.

Scott:
Well done. Hard to capture that "Aqua Velva Ice Blue" effect.

Thank you Bob; the blue ice was amazing for sure! This was my first up close glacier experience and the blue ice was...well, it "blue" me away!
