In the last couple of days, I have noticed several of these type of listings on eBay. Scroll down to the item description and you will see a notice, "Please do not bid. Contact me prior to bidding at: firstname.lastname@example.org"
This is completely against eBay listing policy and I bet you would never receive the item.
Also scroll down and see what the Buy It Now price is.
ebay should flag these attempts to bypass the auctions
eBay have many rules about off site bidding/payments . And they get notified about these all the time .
But in the end they just seem like they couldn't give a toss . Their attitude to their members stinks.
They get rid of the scam listings as soon as someone bothers to inform them of just what rule is being violated. The listing in question was cancelled already.
Being suspicious of a listing will not get it pulled unless they are violating a rule or law. If they cancelled listings for no valid reason other than someone thought it was a scam, I'd be able to get all my competition cancelled just by sending fake e-mails and get higher prices.
