Tried my hand at CS6 Oil Paint Filter, I'm sort of happy with it, but not sure this is the right type of image that benefits the most from this type of processing. Your thoughts are appreciated!

I agree, I'll mask out the sky about 75-80% and see how it looks then. Thanks for your input Tony!

Good ol' Bandon. Nice lighthouse. I agree about the sky. It sort of looks like a heavy water color paper.

Or you can try selecting the sky and applying Filter > Render > Clouds.
While sky is still selected, apply Filter > Oil Paint, then Edit > Fade and try about 11%.
Since I am not very good at Pasting, I like filter effects because they often cover up my shoddy mistakes.
