It looks like a sensor issue. What ISO is that?

Probably ISO800, could even be ISO1000.

That's a heavy crop, right?

My d50 had something similar for about half of its life. Never really bothered me too much. It never worsened. I gave it to a friend and he has continued to enjoy the camera.
