Walking through the back streets of the town of Srinigar, I saw these two children in front of a typically tiny storefront.
I raised the camera slowly to determine whether they or the storekeeper objected.
Nobody flinched or frowned, so I took a quick shot using Kodachrome slide film.

About cutting off the feet: I've seen so many portraits on this forum where the subjects were cut off at the neck or chest that I assumed it was obligatory .
But I couldn't bear "cutting off at the neck" pics of children, so I confine it to the feet .
Either that, or I'm always shooting fast and looking at people's facial expressions and tend to forget about their feet.
Either way, I do it too often , but since Kashmir is almost exactly half-way around the world from Oregon, I haven't gotten around to doing a re-shoot .
