Looking to see if anyone in southern california performs lens calibration services aside from Canon? I would like to get my Canon 28-70 2.8L and Canon 50mm 1.4 MA calibrated with my 50D. I would send it to Canon, but don't really want to pay and arm and a leg for the services. I'm not a pro by any means and I am someone new to this hobby. I wasn't sure if this was something a member on here performs to make a few bucks off to the side. Thanks everyone for any suggestions.

I think you mean 24-70 2.8L, a lens for which you can have pretty high expectations.

The 50 f/1.4 is not of the same caliber, so while it can be very sharp at mid apertures, it is not very good, especially in the corners, at other apertures. It can also be inconsistent in auto focusing.

So my suggestion is to examine the characteristics of your gear first, then explore what might make it perform better. Calibration will adjust where the plane of focus falls, but will in no way improve your lens optics.

Here are a couple of sites where you can read test reports on the gear you have:

If you don't want to purchase the software to assist in micro adjusting your lenses, try this - I use it and I think it works great. It sounds confusing, but once you work through it, it's pretty simple:
