The Serengetti is lion and leopard country- so the native villages are built in a circle, with the houses (about 20 or 30) and brambles serving as deterrents to intruders.
While most of the men were away attending to the village's cattle herds, and most of the women were working within the village, some of the women attended the children.
Gathered here because of the ten of us that dropped in unannounced- and this was the Maasai's idea of how we wanted them to be for our photographs.
Not what I'd have preferred, but certainly all right- since this was my first and only visit to Kenya.
