Just passing though on migration so we had just an hour or two with these three birds on Yang Shan Island off the coast of Shanghai.

The waxy substance on the ends of their feathers makes getting detail a little difficult. These had the enchanting habit of occasionally throwing the berries up in the air before catching them !

Oh my goodness- these are incredibly good images.
It doesn't hurt that the birds are richly colored- but that doesn't deny for a moment your excellent shooting and processing.
A marvelous treat!

Love these shots. The 4th looks like the game my kids play tossing marshmallows to each other trying to catch one in their mouth.
Beautiful colors...the tips of the feathers always gets me...very cool shots.

I just had a bunch of cedar waxwings pass through my yard. They were doing the same things with the berries, I thought they were drunk!
