Beautiful work as usual. I have a D800, 300 f/4 and a virgin BushHawk. Would like to see how you tricked out your BushHawk for hand held, with 6 (+/-) lbs weight. thanks I need to take a pic for you, don't I...
Thanks a bunch, Bert. You're gonna love those files.

Will, think I may invest in a BushHawk,, can see with the butt against the shoulder offers a better platform for much improved stability,,
agree with you the 800(E) is one of Nikon's best dream machines,,
Will, what type release are you using from the trigger to the cam release,,??
thanks
Derry
Don't use the trigger, Derry. Rear button AF guy and prefer to maintain control of the camera settings
at all times, shootin' the stuff I do. For me, it affords a great grip and a bit more stability then just lens & body.
Nice looking stuff Will! Thinking about a D800 myself to go with the 400/2.8 VR.Getting a little impatient waiting on a D300 replacement.
Are you shooting with a D800 or the E ?

Thanks for sharing,

Thanks, Scott...just got the 800, as it was available. I'd take an E in a heartbeat, wouldn't think twice.
Nikon put out a game changer, in the right hands. You'd wet your pants viewing files with that 400, no lie.

Thanks Will, I guess I need to start looking for a D800.

Thanks. Maybe play around with your settings...my buddy has the left AF issue and just uses the 9 with >90% in focus.
These are tools, there are workarounds to "get the shot". I've yet to shoot a perfect camera body. Just sayin'
I hear you. I think I suck or maybe the tool is too much for me.

An excellent series of shots, Will.
I have found that the AF of the D800 is both fast and accurate, a tad better than the D700.
Many thanks, Lance. I've been impressed with how fast it locks on with the 70-200 VR II/AF-S 300 f4...
can only imagine how great it would be with the Superteles!
I wish I can say that about my D800. I get about 20% keepers on a lucky day. I keep dreaming the day Nikon will finally be able to fix my D800. I can't wait.
I just sent my d800 in for repair of the af issue.(11/26/2012) received back today. That includes 2 days there and 4 days back. Working perfect. Sadly ALL my microadjustments will have to be done over. But not too hard on an align pro.
Interesting my image count is up by 2000. They were busy!

...maybe you won't NEED any now?! Glad it came back quickly, but 2000 shots seems excessive.
Same serial # ...stranger things have happened.
