these items helped get the US to the moon. My dad was an engineer that helped develop and manufacture instruments that were used on all Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo capsules. (as well as commercial airliners) Specifically, attitude indicators, altimeters - plus some others. The cylindrical object was a spare part (weight) for the Apollo capsule gyros. It amazes me that this was before computers, and calculators - and my dad's well worn slide rule was always in his pocket.

Never forget my glee when I discovered a slide rule in a box belonging to my grandfather. Absolutely no idea how to use it. But, it was the first time I'd ever touched one!!
