I can't see the purpleness on my UNcalibrated monitor in office. Even if there is, it is nowhere serious as many RF lens (like CV 15mm, 28mm). I am impressed with the samples in LL (I was expecting tones of distortion considered the small size).
Maybe a tiny bit of purple on the clouds in the upper right. But not enough to bother me. I think the story might be a bit different with the 7, though.
(on a positive note, I used the 16/2.8+UWA on the 7 yesterday for the first time since the firmware update. . .and had no purple-corner issues at all. Can't see one bit. So, maybe the 7 will do well now with the 10-18 too?)
Overall, looks like a pretty sweet lens. The pricing is in line with a constant-aperture super-wide zoom IMO.

I'm very curious how this performs on the NEX-7.

*Add to basket* whenever I have enough money. Looks like the new year's present for my wife is found. Fail that, the Nokia Lumia 920 will have to suffice.
I've shot with mine but nothing of note. The only shot remotely interesting was an auto-panorama at 18mm!! I'm planning on going out this weekend so hopefully I can get some samples at wider FL on the NEX7.

If anyone who owns the CV15 happens to pick up this lens... please, please, please post a couple side by side shots at 15mm
I don't own the 10-18, but I made a very quick comparison with the CV 15mm when visiting the Sony Store at the weekend. Full size images: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/gbcxuatetlo13ix/5ehwzyqRyN#/ (both at 15mm f/4.5). Nothing fancy in terms of subject matter, although the text is quite a bit clearer with the 10-18. I'll hang onto the Heliar for now, it's compactness makes it a keeper.
Sales lady in Sony Store is fascinated by the Heliar
Specifically I meant Sony is. Even their own premium UWA still has magenta cast. I guess Zeiss is the last hope for a native UWA that won't have a cast or else it's the sigma 8-16.

It seems to be more of the fault of the camera, rather than the lens. Hopefully they'll figure out the issue with the next 24mp sensor release.
