sebboh, I like the theme. Do you get fog daily? I rarely ever have fog where I live. It looks great.
Thyraz, I like the country scenes and the colors are not overdone. Reminds me of my wife's home.
Helena, I love your capture of the bouncing water drops. It is creepy... but don't open your umbrella in-doors!

Based on postings on another forum I was inspired to acquire a 49mm +5 Close-In filter. Mine is B+W (~$25) but I'm sure there are better out there. I like photographing flowers so the filter helps to reduce/eliminate cropping. But if I want to crop, it works pretty well.

Being automotive shooter, I wanted to see how the RX1 one will do in that setting. I think it did quite well! The leaf shutter helped with the strobes. I was even able to catch some on the street in poor lighting an high ISO

thanks! all the fog shots i've posted here were taken on same walk, i'm just slow to process them. during the summer we do have fog pretty much every day though. it usually rolls in around 5pm and burns off around 11am the next morning. gives a nice spooky feeling at night.

Lucky you! We almost never get fog in summer. Fog - especially in combination with sunshine - is awesome for photography, so I'm envious.

Thw whole California coast gets the marine layer and fog come in off the water in the afternoon/evening due to hot inland valley temps which suck in this cooler/high moisture air off the ocean.SF being on the inlet to the bay sees a lot of fog
A lot off time it burns off too quickly and there is only a brief time of magic sun and fog.
The amount of fog and weather systems you get in Norway in the winter that I have seen in your shots is much better than our summer fog. Still envious of your photo weather.

yeah, catching the sun and fog together is really tough to time, especially where i live, which is basically a little temperate rain forest isolated on the top of a hill. usually the weather is different if i go 100ft down hill. i never have any idea looking out my window whether the rest of the city is sunny or not.

if i want to to get fog and sun together the easiest way to do it is to go right up to the ocean (e.g. all those land's end photos i posted last year). any time it is sunny just inland (in outer richmond in the case of land's end) you can go there just after sunrise and catch a thin layer of sea fog that the sun can still penetrate.

anyway, here's some color photos from the same walk:

Great Z shot, rodizzle. Think you've got a tripod leg in frame on the left side, though.

This page has some outstanding images!

Sebboh - your last one is my favorite!

Some images from over the weekend where I was without a tripod or a suitable spot to perch the camera except for the first image, where I found a log to rest the camera on.

cool shot Thyraz! i didn't notice the shadow till the second time i looked.

love the b&w version bob!

i tried tried shooting some night fog today, but i can just never seem to get such shots to look right. it seems impossible for me to process the shot to convey the darkness and lack of visibility of the actual environment. so none of my shots really capture the feeling i was going for

anyway a few of my attempts, the first one actually uses the rich tones b&w shooting mode:
