I'd appreciate any comments pertaining to the photos not the politics.
Thanks!

Trying to take a photo journalistic perspective, #4 is the winner for telling the story clearly in one shot.
In #1 I don't really know what's happening.
In #2, the red hue makes the hands easy to miss.
In #3, the image is blurred and the girl has a confusing smile.

Based on the title and the composition of these images, I assume you are going after a journalistic approach, so I am restricting my comments how well these images portray the events and tell the story.

#1 does not tell the story at all ... my first thought was: "What is that gerk doing in the middle of the street?".

#2 -- kind of dark ... missed the hands, saw #3 and went back to #2 and saw the hands.

#3 -- blurry

#4 -- Ah, now I know what you are after, I can see all the symbolism and the context of the venue. Great shot.

So the last picture should be first. That's easy to fix.

It's just like other photo documentaries. Show the broad view - maybe a couple of shots - then show the closer shots, after the audience "gets it".

My thoughts exactly.

I'd reverse the order: 4, 3, 2, 1. Based on the amount of daylight it looks pretty close to chronological order as well.
