In China's Sichaun province, the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base's objective is conservation and to study how these endangered animals breed. Besides the Giant Panda, the base takes in several other endangered species like the Red Panda.
Thank you, everyone. It's pretty rare to see a Giant Panda anywhere in the world, so even though they live in a controlled environment, it was nice to be able to 'interact' with them.
BeeBalm - you are pretty restricted from physical interaction with the Giant Panda. They were pretty close to the barrier though, maybe 15-20 feet. The Red Pandas, although more aggressive, ran freely around the park.
